Ways these Denver Broncos together with their malleable quarterback could halt that Chiefs' reign.

NFL 2025 season: Week six
Real-time updates includes live text of the weekend matchups via multiple platforms, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, radio commentary is available on designated networks covering another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).
We're in the sixth week in the football calendar , following last week's talk regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being possible championship contenders, each surrendered their perfect starts.
Notable in those games was the amount of penalties each conceded. The Eagles did so in key moments so they essentially beat themselves after leading 17-3 going into the final quarter against the Denver Broncos, set to play in London this weekend.
But it was positive to see how Denver's QB Bo Nix was able to overcome the shortfall and then direct three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the game 21-17.
Denver boast the defensive player of the year in CB Pat Surtain II. They rank number one in red zone defence, while the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, and the Broncos won that battle.
They executed the Eagles' number in terms of disguised blitzes. They weren't necessarily rushing more than four defenders but they might position two LBs in the interior before drop them out and dispatch a slot defender from the outside.
At the start of the season, we said on a program that the Broncos could be this season's dark horses. They finished the previous year strongly then excelled in continuing that momentum.
Are the Denver Broncos this season's dark horses?
New tight end Evan Engram has stepped up significantly while recent RB JK Dobbins is a guy the team trusts. He's currently fifth league-wide for rushing yards (402) and tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).
It's impressive how the coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUSH!" at the top on his call sheet.
This demonstrates that Denver represent a team aiming to prioritize the run, since one can achieve much based on that approach. It reduces opposing rushes and keeps you in positive down and distances.
It's also benefited quarterback the young passer, who came the NFL as a first-round selection last year, passing for 29 TDs – just behind a star QB in rookie records (31 in 2020).
Josh Allen and Herbert have powerful arms to pass all over, however they lack in the same way that Nix has. He boasts incredible passing ability, which is different, plus he is so athletic.
His assets are his movement, being able to throw on the run, and using varied release points to deliver throws as he moves out of the pocket, on rollouts. He is able to throw that layered pass over the middle or over the corner.
As a rookie QB, aged 25, he displays great composure in the pocket and isn't bothered by extra rushers. He tries to avoid being tackled whenever possible and is able pass in tight spots. He possesses a high football IQ and remains quick to decide.
If you constantly rush it eats up the clock and forces the opponent to be in play for longer, and if you've got a mobile QB the defense has to cover the field vertically and horizontally. This proves exhausting.
The quarterback has pushed back with the coach on the sideline sometimes and it seems the coach likes that attitude, seeing him as a fierce rival. In my view it's fun for him to coach a young quarterback that is kind of like moldable clay. The coach can truly build something up the way he desires to build it. I believe it's a special experience for the coach.
The head coach has won a Super Bowl and now surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen everything. I think the achievements the Broncos are experiencing on offence is mostly down to his guidance, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the combination with the QB helps make him into who he is.
You wouldn't want a more qualified person in your ear, to assist you during some of the tougher situations and boost confidence.
I believe in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. But are they strong enough to go against a top squad at full strength? Since that wasn't a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles in their last game.
Right now, I don't think the Broncos are incredible. They're performing above average, which is a good place to be in the AFC West. The key to do to continue this trajectory.
They excel at leaning into their strength, that is running the ball, and this is precisely what they should do versus the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.
The Jets have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (in the bottom ten), and they're the only team without a win any game.
Ever since the league began tracking turnovers decades ago, the Jets are the inaugural squad to go without any turnovers through five games, this is surprising when you think that their new coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.
Patrick Mahomes stated the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' after a recent loss by the Jaguars.
After the upcoming matchup, Denver have a manageable slate up to their bye (in week 12) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Looking at the AFC West, Kansas City are 2-3 while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could challenge at leading the division.
It depends on what version of the Chiefs they meet because the Broncos {beat|def
