Iran Reports Strike on American Facility in Bahrain, During Regional Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched operations across the region in response for a significant and continuing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity in the area of the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is uncertain and the American officials has not commented.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to American military installations - said they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas associated with the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the government.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military said it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported debris landed in a neighborhood in the capital, causing some material damage and killing a civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
