Football Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game victorious run came to an end by Sunderland prior to the global hiatus, but can the English top division frontrunners recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.

For the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's new record, the new release, is available on Friday.

Football and Parenting Life

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of multiple charity football games over time - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a player.

"{I actually played in a benefit game the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.

"I won't force football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer side," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite close, however. Burnley are well organised and their sole home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they appear competitive again.

West Ham's only away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a few people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their past four games.

My son told me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it in reality turns out to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

Fulham have have plenty of quality in their team but it still seems like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

As for the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

The away side's display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed anyone else rough up the North London side like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to back the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the end of last month.

But I am not choose that. Instead, I truly need to continue going against the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the sole team they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be absolutely eager for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but could they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
